We’re excited that President Biden has listened to the voices of moms and families and is planning to make major positive investments in his FY2025 budget including: child care, paid family and medical leave, the Child Tax Credit, maternal health programs, and mental health care, and other programs to give families the tools they need to work and thrive. These policies will also lift the economy.Now we need the U.S. Congress to take action!

For example, parents need access to high-quality affordable child care and early education. This is important for both children's development and parents' ability to work. Childcare should not be so out of reach for so many parents who often need to work multiple jobs to make ends meet. This not only takes precious time away from their children, affecting early bonding and relationships, but also undermines the stability and security that families need.     I don't know anyone with young children who isn't, in some way, struggling to find high quality, affordable childcare. Between the long waitlists, high costs, and unpredictability, families all over the country are cobbling together a patchwork of solutions to ensure that their children are cared for while they work. Whether it's relying on family and friends to pitch in, trying to care for children while working from home, or leaving the workforce all together, American parents are forced to make hard choices between imperfect options everyday. Considering our children are so singularly precious to us, this daily stressor is extra taxing. Our families, our children, deserve the same care and consideration that so many other countries have already figured out how to provide. Congress must act.

    I sent my twins to head start and only one walked out alive when a table crushed my daughter In 2017. We need this funding, especially for infrastructure. The safety of our children and their teachers and support staff should be paramount. Every child deserves to come home from school.
