Save Child Care by Saying NO to Greedy Billionaires

Dear Lawmakers,
We urge you to reject tax cuts for billionaires and instead commit to fully funding child care for working families. Parents are being pushed out of the workforce, providers are underpaid, and care centers are closing. This crisis is real—and it’s hurting our economy and our children.
We commend Pennsylvania leaders Senator Bob Casey and Representative Summer Lee for already standing with families and advocating for affordable child care. Their leadership shows what’s possible when lawmakers prioritize people over profits.
Now we call on the rest of Congress to follow their example. Invest in care. Invest in our future.
Why is this important?
Child care is the backbone of our economy—and it’s collapsing. Without it, parents can’t work, providers can’t survive, and children miss out on critical early learning. This isn’t just a family issue—it’s an economic emergency.
If we don’t speak up, billionaires will get more tax breaks while families struggle to access care. That’s why we need everyone—parents, providers, grandparents, and allies—to join us. When we rise together, we can demand a system that truly supports our children and our communities.
Decimating child care, preschool, early intervention, and Head Start budgets to fund tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations only spells disaster for American families. Child care has long been unaffordable and unattainable for families, and new data just released from the Department of Labor shows that child care costs more than the median yearly cost of rent. According to recent studies, child care challenges cost the United States economy an estimated $122 billion a year. Supporting investments in high-quality child care and early learning programs can help offset this loss, generating up to $7.30 for every dollar invested
